Recently I was asked by a patient if the toddler who was in the waiting room was a patient of mine. He was surprised that such a young person would already have back pain. So, I explained it: Chiropractic has very little to do with back pain, but with proper function. This means if a patient happens to have a misalignment in their spine, something in their body will not work the way it is supposed to. Chiropractic can help by examining the spine and looking for misalignments that could put pressure on nerves. Removing these misalignments with a gentle adjustment is the sole purpose of chiropractic and it has been for over 100 years.
Now back to my young patient. In the one picture you can actually see my very youngest patient ever. (The second picture is taken a few weeks after the first adjustment; Mom and baby are doing great!) The little cutie was just two days old when her mom brought her in for painful stomach bloating. She slept poorly and after a very very light adjustment, the problem was corrected immediately. No wonder this little angel didn’t have this problem for too long, so it’s much easier to correct.
The true challenge for me is to correct someone’s spine which had been misaligned for years and often decades, so babies are much easier to correct.
Here at Stein Chiropractic we wish you a happy 2018. Stay strong and healthy!
