Once my last article got published, people sent me some very cool health tips. Some of them were even new to me:
- Did you know drinking water can actually help with being bloated? How about that!
- Chiropractic can boost your immune system and help you fight illnesses more effectively.
- Use a good pillow. So many on the market and often the most expensive ones are not necessary. Just make sure your neck keeps a good alignment with the rest of the spine.
- Chiropractic can help with asthma. A misaligned vertebra can irritate the nerves that go down to your lungs.
- Exercise can help with – wait for it – being tired. A study published in Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise found that exercise improves one’s cardiovascular health and therefore improving one’s energy.
- Did you know improving your posture can decrease your chances of getting attacked? Bad guys don’t want to mess with strong people; they are looking for victims. Walking around with your eyes open instead of staring down at your phone is a no-brainer in addition.
- Stop moaning and complaining. According to researchers at the Mayo Clinic, pessimists are more prone to viral illnesses. Positive people stay well and they are more fun to be around.
- Instead of relying on your weight scale on how your workouts are coming along, take body measurements. Most of us don’t care if we lose weight; we want to lose fat!
- There are good and bad fats. Avocados, Nuts and Olive oil (just a little shout-out that there is an awesome olive oil store at the Citadelle Plaza called Artisan Olive) are of the good kind.
- If you crave chocolate, go for the dark kind. That’s healthier than the white or milk chocolate.
- Start balancing on one leg daily. It will improve your balance and strengthen your core.
- Did you know in the time you read this list you could have made an appointment with us or at least exercised a little. Remember you have to start walking before you can run!
